Capgemini, McDonald’s Extend Strategic Technology Partnership for Five Years

Capgemini and McDonald’s Corporation have extended their strategic partnership through a new five-year agreement aimed at supporting modern, scalable technology platforms across the restaurant chain’s global operations.

Under the agreement, Capgemini will continue to provide engineering, deployment and support services for selected customer-facing digital channels and restaurant technologies across McDonald’s global system. The collaboration is aligned with McDonald’s “Accelerating the Arches” strategy, which focuses on expanding digital capabilities and improving customer and crew experiences.

McDonald’s has previously outlined goals to reach 250 million 90-day active loyalty users and generate $45 billion in annual systemwide sales from loyalty members by the end of 2027. The company is also working to connect thousands of restaurants to cloud-based capabilities as part of its digital transformation efforts.

Capgemini has partnered with McDonald’s for more than a decade, supporting various technology initiatives. The renewed agreement will focus on advancing the next phase of the company’s digital transformation, including modernizing restaurant technology, enhancing consumer-facing platforms and improving operational efficiency.

Brian Rice, global chief information officer at McDonald’s Corporation, said the company is focused on modernizing restaurants and improving experiences for both customers and employees, adding that partnerships with technology providers play a key role in this process.

Capgemini said its multidisciplinary teams across strategy, design, innovation and engineering will support the initiative, including the application of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics through its Applied Innovation Exchange.

Anirban Bose, chief executive officer of the Americas and group executive board member at Capgemini, said the collaboration reflects a shared effort to enhance digital and in-restaurant experiences while supporting the future of restaurant technology.
