Hong Kong Authorities Fine Abandoned Vehicle Owners

Hong Kong authorities are implementing a new law beginning December 22nd, targeting individuals who fail to properly register and maintain unlicensed vehicles. The Transport Department announced the regulation in response to rising instances of vehicles left unattended on public streets. Failure to register the vehicle, as well as proper maintenance, will result in legal penalties, including fines starting from a significant amount. The aim is to deter illegal abandonment and ensure vehicle ownership is legally compliant.
