Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, renowned for its commitment to #BuildingBusinessOwners, successfully concluded its eight-day Emerging Managers Bootcamp, held from June 22 to June 29 for the incoming 2025–2027 batch. The Bootcamp was designed to nurture managerial capabilities, ethical leadership, and community consciousness among the country’s future business leaders.
The valedictory session was graced by Lt. General Ashok Kumar Jindal, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Raipur, who has been honored with prestigious accolades including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), and is notably the first doctor in India to receive the Yudh Seva Medal for distinguished service in war.
Addressing the aspiring managers, Lt. Gen. Jindal shared insights from his distinguished military and medical career. He urged the students to “put ethics above profit motives in healthcare” and emphasized the importance of working towards the betterment of society. He also encouraged the exploration of digital twin modeling in healthcare as a pathway to innovative solutions and highlighted the critical significance of organ donation.
The valedictory event also saw the presence of IIM Raipur’s leadership, including Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani, Director of IIM Raipur, Prof. Satyasiba Das, and Prof. Diptiman Banerjee. The faculty members emphasized that leadership in today’s complex world requires not only managerial competence but also resilience, vision, and a commitment to service.
Reflecting on the Bootcamp’s core philosophy, Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani stated, “In a world that rewards speed, we at IIM Raipur believe in building depth. The Emerging Managers Bootcamp isn’t just about breaking the ice; it’s about breaking mental barriers. It fosters a mindset shift from individual excellence to collective purpose, and from learning to serving. This is where leadership begins — in silence, in sweat, and in service.”
The Bootcamp featured the guidance of several distinguished facilitators, including retired IAS, IPS, and IRS officers, as well as medal-winning dignitaries. Participants also benefited from the expertise of corporate leaders with a cumulative CXO-level management experience exceeding 100 years. Among them were Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi, Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, Shri Vinod P. Menon, Shri Satish Anand, Shri Mahankali Srinivas Rao, Shri Sandeep Roy, Shri Rakesh Misri, and Ms. Poornima Dore.
With a focus on cultivating ethical sensibilities, community orientation, and managerial excellence, the Emerging Managers Bootcamp has set the stage for IIM Raipur’s new batch to evolve into responsible and visionary business leaders.
