The Malaysian High Court has ruled against a recent appeal by former Prime Minister Najib Razak and his son, Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, concerning bankruptcy proceedings. The Inland Revenue Board initiated these proceedings following a significant shortfall in tax payments, totaling 1.69 billion ringgit and 37.6 million ringgit, respectively. The court determined that the defendants failed to fully satisfy the tax obligations. Judicial Commissioner Suhendran Sockanathan alias Saheran Abdullah stated that the ruling effectively terminates the appeal. The decision follows a review of the case’s legal merits and the defendants’ adherence to the court’s stipulations.
