Mumbai: Renault India has launched a refreshed version of its compact SUV, the Kiger, introducing over 35 updates across design, technology, and safety. The new model aims to strengthen Renault’s presence in the sub-four-metre SUV segment, which accounts for a significant share of India’s passenger vehicle market.
The updated Kiger features a redesigned exterior, including a new front grille, sculpted hood, LED headlamps and taillamps, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin has been upgraded with ventilated leatherette seats, a dual-tone dashboard, and improved noise insulation.
Under the hood, the Kiger continues to offer two petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque, and a naturally aspirated version delivering 72 PS and 96 Nm. Fuel efficiency is rated at 20.38 km/l and 19.83 km/l respectively, according to ARAI figures. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, Easy-R AMT, and X-Tronic CVT with D-Step technology.
Safety has been a key focus in this update. The Kiger now comes with 21 standard safety features across all variants, including six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. A multi-view camera system, automatic headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers have also been added to enhance driver convenience.
The Kiger is available in seven colour options, including two new shades—Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey. Prices for the turbocharged variants range from ₹9.99 lakh to ₹11.29 lakh, while the naturally aspirated models start at ₹6.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
