Gorilla Baby Returned to Nigeria

A five-month-old Western lowland gorilla named Zeytin has been returned to Nigeria following a rescue operation at Istanbul Airport. The gorilla was found wandering near the airport’s arrivals area. Authorities were alerted to his presence after receiving reports of a distressed animal. A coordinated effort involving airport personnel and veterinarians was undertaken to safely retrieve the juvenile. Zeytin is now in the care of a sanctuary facility in Nigeria and is expected to continue his life there.
